The Port Authority organizes a visit to fishing facilities for students from the Marín Municipality’s Employment Workshop
Students participating in the Dual Employment Workshop on Cooking—currently taking place at the Marín "Espazo Emprendedor" (Entrepreneurship Hub)—visited the fish market and other sector facilities this morning, guided by Port Authority staff. Through April, the students will receive comprehensive theoretical and practical training at the port's Entrepreneurship Hub. As part of their training and with the aim of introducing them to the realities of the industry, the Port Authority organized a guided tour for them this morning. The tour began at the inshore fishing basin and continued at the fish market, where they observed the preparation of fish and seafood across various departments. There, they learned about different species as well as the cleaning and packaging processes. Additionally, the group visited export facilities such as Mares de Galicia—where they saw the cooking and packaging processes for mollusks like mussels, razor clams, and clams—and companies that sell to restaurants and private customers across Spain, such as O Percebeiro, where they learned about handling some of the market's most prized fish varieties. This activity is part of the Port Authority’s guided tour program and its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, which seeks to bring the reality of port operations closer to various sectors and foster the relationship between the port and the city. The Employment Workshop itself takes place in port facilities that have been made available to the Marín Municipality for public use.
