The Port Authority and the Marín Town Council will collaborate in the search for alternative locations for the Maritime Museum.
Jose Benito Suárez Costa, president of the Port Authority, and María Ramallo, mayor of Marín, held a meeting this morning with the board of directors of the Marín Maritime Museum to coordinate the search for a viable alternative location for the Museum. After several years in the building provided by Abanca, the work of promoting the maritime culture and identity of the municipality, as well as the growing collection of museum artifacts that increasingly require a larger space, support this need, requested by the institution, which has even received the collaboration of the Provincial College of Architects. They will explore different possibilities within the spaces provided by the Port Authority to the public, or in another location within the municipality, ensuring that it is in an environment that meets the necessary conditions for the Museum. Both the City Council and the Port Authority pledged to continue working in upcoming meetings with the collaboration of specialized architects to find a solution and provide the Marín Maritime Museum with a permanent location.
