The Port Authority is once again fully committed to supporting Marín's summer festivities
As is customary each year, the Port Authority is actively participating with the Marín Town Council and various social and cultural associations in the organization and execution of the summer festivities and related activities.
Prior to the main Carmen festival, the port already provided support by allocating special parking areas for events such as the Golfiños Club motorcycle rally, the annual weavers' gathering organized by Marín Tece, and the wine festival.
This year, the Port Authority was also one of the public entities that collaborated in the Festival de Cine do Mar (Sea Film Festival) organized by the Marín Maritime Museum and the gathering of vintage boats, for which docks were made available to the organizers.
Regarding the Carmen festivities, the port authority yesterday made space available to the City Council for the nighttime Battle of Flowers parade and has designated extra parking areas near Marqués de Valterra Square. This parking will be available during specific time slots on the days when major events are held in Marín.
Furthermore, as is customary, the port will implement a special operation for Carmen Day to support the events held at the Marín Naval Academy, which are especially significant this year due to the presence of Princess Leonor following the completion of her training aboard the Juan Sebastián Elcano.
The port will also be the starting point for the Carmen Day maritime procession, in honor of the patron saint of seafarers. Additionally, at the end of this month, the Port Authority will once again collaborate with the City Council for a sporting event, this time the +10 Race. Traffic diversions will be set up within the port area, along with additional parking.
The President of the Port Authority, Jose Benito Suárez Costa, highlighted the close relationship with the Marín Town Council and local associations, as well as the port's commitment to supporting all festive and social events held in the area. Furthermore, Suárez Costa emphasized "the excellent work done by the Port Authority staff, especially the port police and the Port Security Officer, who, in addition to their daily duties, spare no effort to ensure that all citizens can enjoy these festivities."
