The Board authorizes significant sustainability investments for several port companies.
The Board of Directors approved the expansion of the Rosa de los Vientos cold storage facility's concession to allow it to provide training to third parties in fishmongering, fish processing, and aquaculture, in addition to its primary function of processing fish and shellfish. Furthermore, the Board approved extending the concession for this cold storage facility due to a significant investment in modernizing its deep-freezing facilities. This will increase the facility's energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, as well as improve productivity. In addition, the Board of Directors approved the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Nodosa factory for its own energy consumption. The directors praised the commitment to renewable energy, which contributes to sustainable development and significantly reduces energy dependence on more polluting sources, in line with the Port Authority's environmental strategy. The April session also approved the port ordinance for maritime traffic control in the Pontevedra Estuary, an organizational legal instrument whose scope is limited to the Port Authority's service area. The preliminary approval of the 2027 Business Plan was also granted and will be discussed and agreed upon with State Ports next week.
