The Port Authority renews the internal lighting of its facilities to improve energy efficiency
The Port Authority is about to complete the work to improve the interior lighting of its headquarters, a system that consisted mainly of circular fluorescent tube lights and compact fluorescent lamps. The project, financed with European MRR funds, involves the use of more efficient LED lights, resulting in improved lighting conditions and greater energy efficiency. It also reduces electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The work consisted of dismantling all existing fluorescent tube lights of different types (recessed in ceilings and/or suspended ceilings, surface-mounted, and suspended) and replacing them with LED lights. The work, carried out by the company IMESAPI, included adapting openings in ceilings and suspended ceilings, painting ceilings, suspended ceilings and moldings, replacing junction boxes, and extending lines or conduits. The new light fixtures are manufactured with recycled materials and 3D printed with carbon-neutral emissions. In areas with ample natural light, the fixtures include integrated sensors for lighting regulation. This investment is included in the 2025-2029 Investment Plan of the 2026 Business Plan of this Port Authority, approved by the Governing Board of the State Ports Authority on July 23, 2025, within the investment line "Improvement of the interior lighting of the Port Authority headquarters" and financed with European MRR funds.
