The Port of Marín Security Committee approves the revised assessment of the Port Security Plan
The Port Authority convened the Port Security Advisory Committee yesterday to inform them of the latest actions taken regarding security and protection. In addition to the Port Authority, the Committee is composed of members from the Ministry of Defense, the Maritime Authority, the Civil Guard, the National Police, the Government Sub-delegation, the Tax Agency, and the Galician Regional Government's Directorate General of Emergencies.
Its purpose is to advise the port on security and protection matters. It is a key inter-institutional cooperation forum for the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of security and protection measures against potential threats in the port area.
During the meeting, the committee was briefed on the latest actions taken in this area, including the training of workers as port facility security officers, the addition of a safety, environment, and risk prevention technician, new procedures related to image recording and alcohol and drug testing, and the latest drills and simulations conducted.
The committee also approved the evaluation of the updated port security plan, prior to its approval by the Ministry of the Interior.
