Port of Marín sees nearly 9% growth in cargo throughput between January and August
According to provisional statistics, the Port of Marín closed August with an accumulated growth rate of +8.81% compared to the same period last year (January–August), with total volume already exceeding 1.5 million tonnes. Within the general cargo category, notable increases were seen in containerized goods and non-containerized items such as frozen fish, iron and steel products, and construction materials. Regarding solid bulk, cereals and cereal flours showed the highest growth. Fresh fish volumes also rose by 10% compared to the first eight months of the previous year. As for vessel traffic, 20% more merchant ships arrived at the port between January and July of this year than during the same period last year.
