The Port Authority has put out to tender the project for the “Renovation and Improvement of the Fish Market's Interior Facilities: Renewal of the Articulated Bases of the Pillars.”
The contract is valued at €830,000 (excluding taxes) and has a completion timeframe of 10.5 months. The Port Authority has secured European co-financing for the project through the EMFF (European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund).
The Marín fish market has been in operation since 1976, and its proximity to the salt flats necessitates the timely renewal of the articulated bases of its pillars. The work involves the assembly of an auxiliary metal structure for the inspection, structural renewal, and installation of new joints on the pillars.
The Port Authority considers the maintenance of the facilities and services provided to the fishing sector a priority, as reflected in its Investment Plan.
The new roof is currently being installed in the sales area, and the improvement of the facilities for energy efficiency is out to tender.
