The Board approves three agreements to strengthen the Port-City relationship
The last Board of Directors meeting of the year, held this afternoon, included among its main agreements the approval of several agreements that contribute to strengthening the Port-City relationship, one of the Port Authority's key management objectives.
Specifically, the Board approved signing an agreement with the Marín City Council for the use of port public land for the construction and operation of a socio-cultural facility near Plaza de España.
The successive agreements that the Port Authority has signed with the Marín City Council have enabled the development of various urban projects and initiatives, the creation of seafront promenades, the establishment of public access roads and pathways, and the opening of port areas to the municipality's residents. This new agreement facilitates the provision of a cultural infrastructure that will contribute to revitalizing the social life of Marín's residents.
A Aixola
The Port Authority's Board of Directors also approved the collaboration agreement with the Galician Ministry of the Sea (Consellería do Mar) and the CETMAR Foundation for the use of the building housing the "A Aixola" training center. This agreement aims to further promote and improve fishing activities within the port area.
This agreement was first signed in 1996, and since then, the Port Authority has supported this training program for workers in the fishing sector, both those currently employed and those who are unemployed.
Augas de Galicia
Finally, the Board approved the agreement between the public entity Augas de Galicia and the Port Authority of Marín and Pontevedra Estuary for the use of port public land for the construction and operation of a submarine outfall.
The objective is to carry out sanitation infrastructure projects, specifically the construction of a submarine outfall that will carry treated wastewater from the Praceres wastewater treatment plant and its future expansion.
