The Board approves a concession for a café-restaurant on the Paseo Alcalde Blanco
The Board of Directors of the Port Authority approved this afternoon, in its last session of the year, the granting of a concession for the construction and operation of a café-restaurant on the Paseo Alcalde Blanco, requested by the Marín City Council. The space, approximately 100 square meters, is planned as part of the promenade's urban development project, which falls within the framework of Marín's Integrated and Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), co-financed by the EU's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the 2014-2020 Sustainable Growth Operational Program. Anchoring Procedures The Board also approved supplementary instructions to the maritime traffic procedures related to anchoring, approved in December 2017. The Port of Marín has three inner anchorage areas and one outer anchorage area, near Ons Island. The proximity of this anchorage to the Atlantic Islands National Park necessitates special attention to vessel operations, especially during storms when there is a greater demand for shelter from merchant ships in transit. Therefore, regulations are established specifying the particular adverse weather conditions that may justify a request for anchorage, as well as the vessel's obligations, such as appointing an agent, having civil liability insurance, and possessing the necessary resources based on its size or cargo type, among other requirements.
