The Board of Directors definitively approves the 2025 Business Plan
The Board of Directors definitively approved the 2025 Business Plan at its last meeting of the year. This document, with a 2028 horizon, covers all budgetary aspects of the entity, as well as those related to planning and management. The Business Plan's structure is aligned with the Strategic Framework of the port system of general interest, which serves as the reference document for port planning and is based on economic, social, and environmental dimensions, reflecting the profound internal and external changes that have occurred in recent years in the transport, logistics, and freight trade sectors. The Port Authority's Business Plan also includes European co-financing, which the entity will receive through funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) for projects related to environmental sustainability and energy, the ERDF Operational Programme for the 2021-2027 Framework for railway and environmental investments, and the allocation from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFF) for sustainable fisheries development projects. Vice Presidency The Board also approved the appointment of Luis López Diéguez as Vice President of the governing body. Diéguez is the representative of the Xunta de Galicia (Regional Government of Galicia) on the Board of Directors of the Port Authority, by virtue of the Order of the Ministry of the Sea of February 16, 2021, a position that was renewed by the Regional Government through an Order dated November 21, 2025. November Traffic The President of the Port Authority reported on cargo traffic through the port up to November of this year. With one month remaining in the year, 2.1 million tons of cargo have been handled, including a notable 4% increase in general non-containerized cargo, driven primarily by shipments of wind turbines, steel products, fruit, and construction materials. The number of merchant ships calling at the port this year also increased by 4%.
