The Port Authority extends its agreement for the use of the A Aixola Training Center
The Board of Directors approved this afternoon the extension of the agreement with the Galician Ministry of the Sea for the use of the “A Aixola” Training Center, located within the port's public domain managed by the Port Authority of Marín and Pontevedra Estuary. A Aixola provides continuing and vocational training for workers in the fishing sector. The extension, for four years, demonstrates the Port Authority's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and training, especially in the fishing industry. The Board of Directors also approved the appointment of new members to the Navigation and Port Council. Specifically, representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Administration, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, and the Galician Ministry of the Sea have been added as members of this advisory body. The councilors were also briefed on traffic figures up to October, a period in which the port recorded close to two million tons of cargo movement. Among the goods showing growth this year, non-containerized general cargo stands out, especially fruits and vegetables, construction materials, frozen fish, wind turbine components, and iron and steel products.
