The Board of Directors approves the public tender for the operation of the port cafeteria
At its June meeting, the Board of Directors approved the tender specifications and operating terms for the public tender for the concession of the port cafeteria. The premises, owned by the Port Authority, have a surface area of 424 square meters, located on the ground floor near the fishing pier, and have previously been used as a bar/cafeteria. The aim is to serve a growing number of port users in a central area equidistant from the commercial, fishing, and complementary uses. The concession will be granted for a period of eight years. Annual Accounts and Traffic The Board also approved the Port Authority's 2024 annual accounts, including the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, statement of changes in equity, and cash flow statement, following the issuance of the audit report by the State Comptroller General's Office. Furthermore, the report noted the evolution of cargo traffic up to May, which showed a 7% decrease compared to the previous year, primarily due to lower imports of solid bulk cargo during the first five months of the year. Conversely, conventional general cargo grew by nearly 5%, with significant increases in steel products and frozen fish. The number of vessels calling at the port during the first five months of the year also experienced a 7% increase.
