Eight vessels anchored in port waters due to severe weather alert
Eight merchant vessels are currently anchored in the estuary—within the designated anchorage zones of the Port of Marín—unable to continue their voyages due to alerts regarding poor weather conditions in Northern Europe.
Specifically, the vessels are taking shelter in the estuary while awaiting an improvement in the weather. They include the *Eems Traveller*, a wind-assisted cargo ship that had been operating at the Covered Terminal and is bound for the German port of Brake; the cargo ships *Monika*, *Aramis*, *Aberdeen*, *Dagmar*, *Eems River*, and *Eems Duisburg*—destined for Runcorn (England), Eemshaven (Netherlands), Newry (Ireland), Algeciras, and Moerdijk (Netherlands), respectively—as well as the merchant vessel *Crown Topaz*, which offloaded 1,500 tons of fruit at the port and is now bound for Dover.
Once the severe weather alert is lifted, these vessels are expected to resume their operations in a staggered manner and continue on their respective journeys to their next destinations.
