Port Authority President Meets with the Board of the Ría de Marín Association
José Benito Suárez Costa, President of the Port Authority of Marín and Ría de Pontevedra, met this morning with the board of the Ría de Marín Recreational Fishing Cultural Association. He outlined the Port of Marín’s key areas of work, as well as trends in major traffic volumes and projects for the current year. Suárez Costa took the opportunity to congratulate the association’s board members on the successful organization and execution—for yet another year—of the recreational fishing course for children. Held in August, the event brought together over 40 youngsters at the docks of Cantodarea Park, an area of port land open to the public. The Port Authority supported the activity by facilitating the boarding and disembarking of the young anglers at the port’s fishing basin during sessions where they practiced fishing at sea. Suárez Costa also attended the course completion ceremony held last week at the association’s headquarters in Cantodarea Park. Both the Port Authority and the association’s board—led by Juan Jesús Rodríguez—agreed on the importance of promoting educational activities of this kind. These initiatives not only teach children how to fish but also emphasize environmental awareness and the responsible use of resources. Suárez Costa noted that the goals of these actions "align closely with the Port Authority’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and port-city relations—areas we aim to further strengthen."
